Award-winning artist, Karin Luciano paints with gusto in a variety of mixed media on watercolour, board, paper and canvas. Her 2 metre large canvases dazzle the eye with her textural and lustrous use of metallic paint. Her trade mark use of gold and silver leaf captures the viewer's soul.
“My dream has always been to open my own gallery in the main street of Margaret River”. Her new gallery opposite the Visitors Centre, has a large selection of affordable, unique one -off originals and most days you can see her creating her new pieces on site.
Her love of painting she equates to her family lineage. Her father was a maestro Gypsy violinist and double bass player performing in big bands in the 30's and 40's in Europe, and stunned the dance crowd audiences of the 50's and 60's in Melbourne . Her great great aunt was the feminist artist, activist and painter Portia Geach. Portia donated an $18,000 art prize to be awarded to women artists in the annual Portia Geach Portrait Prize.
